Flash Templates Tutorials - Symbols - Button Symbols
Button symbols are created similar to the graphic symbols. After going to Insert > New Symbol or pressing Ctrl+F8 in the dialog box you will need to select the Button option. In this case the scene will open with four frames in the timeline:
· Up - In this frame, you place the image that displays the default look of the button
· Over - In this frame, you place the image that displays how button looks when you place the mouse cursor over it.
· Down - In this frame, you place the image that displays how button looks when you click it.
· Hit - In this frame, you place the image that displays the area (shape) that will be active as a button and will respond to the mouse click. This image will not be displayed; it just determines the shape of the active button area. Active button area size can be bigger or smaller then the very button size.
Before drawing in any frame, you need to make it a keyframe. You can test the work of the button only after you will drag it to the main scene and press Ctrl+Enter to start the testing movie playback.
