Drawing and Painting in Flash
Before one starts drawing and painting in Flash, it is worth to understand how the drawing, painting and shape changing may effect other shapes of the same layer. When you trace a line across another line or across a painted shape while drawing or painting, the traced line acts like a knife dividing another line or another shape into separate parts. Besides, the traced line while drawing is divided into parts by itself. You can mark, move or change the shape of each part separately when drawing or painting: flowing and the line traced across it, as well as two flowing and three parts of the line created by means of segmentation. When you paint above shapes and lines, the lowest part is replaced by the one which is on top. Parts painted with one color when drawing merge, while painting with different colors remains easy distinguishable.
In order to avoid the accidental shape and lines changing while drawing and painting, group them or use different layers to separate them one from the other.
