Flash Templates Tutorials - Font
Internet has favored graphic design spreading among people who have no relations towards painting as well as towards design itself. In early TML one of the only opportunity to pimp the web page up was working with font. Besides, HML itself is nothing but meta language of font markup. However, it doesn’t mean that font itself can be design element. It can. The right usage of all opportunities of the font creates the unique look of a professional web site.
The main difference between Flash and other graphic editors when working with font is the fact that there are two different font modes. Font itself, i.e. text block available for editing, working with ActionScript and having the limited opportunities for the visual design – size, color, incline changing. And the other font mode which we work with not the font text itself but with its graphic presentation – broken font.
Please note: there is a frequent situation occurred while sending FLA file to someone else. If the recipient doesn’t have fonts used in the movie set at his computer, they will be changed into the other fonts automatically. You can avoid it by including these fonts into FLA file. To do so, open Library, select Options – New Font. Now set the name to your font in Library and select it from the fonts list. Press OK and you will find one more font in the objects list. Now you can use it to write some text without fearing when someone opens your FLA file will see something else but not your font.
