Drawing and creation of figures takes place on the active layer. To make the layer active, one must select it. Icon "pencil" which appears next to the name of the layer, indicates that the layer is active. At any time only one layer can be active. One may edit objects at any visible and not locked layer. One may lock the layer in order to protect it from modifying and in order not to litter the working field with various objects, a layer may be made invisible. At any layer objects may be shown as outlines, and one may set the outline as well as change the height of any layer.
To select one layer, use one of the following methods: Click on the title of the layer on the Timeline. Click on the frame on the Timeline. Select an object on the Stage. To select several layers: Hold the Shift key and click on the names of desired layers on the Timeline. To remove the layer: Select it. And choose one of the following ways: Click Trash on the Timeline. Drag the layer to the Trash with your mouse. To create a copy of the layer: Click on the title of the layer to select it completely. Select Edit / Copy Frames. Create a new layer by clicking New Layer. Go to the new layer, then select Edit / Paste Frames.
In order to lock in or lock out the layer select one of the following ways: Click on the column Lock which is at the right from the title of the layer. Click in that place once again to lock out the layer. In order to lock in all the layers click on the icon "Lock". To lock out all the layers, click on that icon once again. In order to lock in / out several layers press the button on the mouse and drag the mouse cursor over the column Lock. To lock in all layers except one – by pressing Alt key click the mouse in the column near the layer title which should remain locked out. To lock out these layers, click again, holding Alt key or Option.
