Exporting paths to Adobe Illustrator
Adobe PhotoShop, which is in fact a raster editor, possesses some elements of vector graphics. Perhaps you may want to move a vector object to the vector editor for further processing. Select File > Export > Paths to Illustrator. It allows you to save vector objects in vector graphics .AI format used by Adobe Illustrator.
TIP. Adobe Programs are very similar and compatible with each other. Therefore, you can easily move images and other objects between them by using Windows clipboard. Of course, each of the programs would display the transmitted object to the best of its ability.
Export transparent images wizard
This wizard of rapid image preparation for Web is launched by Help > Export Transparent Image. Pictures that you save with its help may contain transparent areas.
The implementation is divided into separate stages, each of which is accompanied by its own dialog box.
1. In the first stage you should describe the image: if it has a transparent background, selected area which should be transparent. If you specify that you want to select some area, you will be asked to exit the wizard, select the desired area and then run the wizard again.
2. In the second stage you should indicate the purpose of the exported image: for printing (Print) or for posting on the Net (Online). Depending on the response Adobe Photoshop will determine the appropriate resolution: 72 dpi are enough for web graphics.
3. In the third stage you need to select the format of the exported image. But note that if selecting GIF format we will lose a number of colors through the indexing. If selecting PNG format, wizard work in this stage finishes, and you will be prompted to save the file.
4. In the fourth stage colors indexing takes place through Indexed Color action.
Once these stages are done, you should only save the file with a desired name.
