Vector graphics describes images using direct and curved lines, called vectors, as well as parameters that describe colors and layouts. For example, the image of a tree leave is described with the help of the points through which the line passes, thus creating a leave outline. Leave color is to be set by the outline color and area within this outline.
When editing vector graphics elements you change the parameters of direct and curved lines describing the shape of these elements. You can move elements, change their size, shape and color, but that will not affect the quality of their visual presentation. Vector graphics does not depend on the resolution, that is, can be displayed in a variety of output devices with a various resolutions without loss of quality.
