CMS Templates Installation - Joomla Templates Installation
Joomla Templates Installation Guide
NOTE! You must have the Joomla CMS (Content Management System) installed on your website hosting and have the Joomla template downloaded from WebsiteTemplates.bz.
You need to find the zip file of the template that you have downloaded from our site. Using some zip-extraction software you need to unzip the file to some folder on your hard drive.
Once the files are successfully extracted you will see the folder that contains 3 subfolders named PSD, JoomlaTemplate and HTML. You may leave the folders for now, until we will get to Step 4.
Log into the Joomla Administration Section (Control Panel). It is accessed at the URL like http://www.yourwebsite.com/administrator. Once logged in you will see the Control Panel menu.
Step 3 in Installing a JoomlaTemplate:
Mouse-over the Installers menu on the top and select Templates Site from the dropdown menu. The template upload page will open.
A. On the template upload page please click the Browse button in the Upload Package File section. In the pop-up window navigate to the folder where you have extracted the zip file to and in its folder open the Joomla Templatefolder. Double-click the ZIP file that is located there or click Open. Click "Upload File and Install" button in this section.
B. The 4A step provides you with the instructions for the hosting environments that support the file unzipping. If your host does not allow you to do this you can do the following. Extract the ZIP file located at Joomla Template folder and place (upload) all of its contents to the folder on your hosting server. And then in the Install from directory section state the path to the folder with the extracted template contents. Click the Install button in this section.
Upon the upload completion you will be taken to the page with the message "Upload template - Success". Click the Continue button there.
The final step would be to test the template, enabling it in the Template Manager that you will be taken to after pressing Continue. In Template Manager you will need to click the radio button next to the new template you have installed and click Default button that is under the main toolbar section. The button will become highlighted in red and the green checkmark will appear next to the template name.
You are finished with the installation of the template. Congratulations! Now you can enjoy the new web design for your Joomla site designed for you by WebsiteTemplates.bz.
