Search Engine Optimization Part 4

by Admin | post a comment

Tips and tricks for HTML templates SEO. Things to do or not to do.

Today I'll provide you with some new advice on search engine optimization for HTML templates. It's the fourth article now, but I think the more is the better in this case.

Try not to use tag in the text and links of your HTML template. Use <strong> tag instead. Strong tag is better indexed by the search engines.
Avoid using redirects if possible. Redirects slow down the work of search engine robots (as well as the indexing of your site by them).
Use keywords in titles and headings on the page, especially within h1 and h2 tags.

The next two things go for those who try to win in cunning ways.
Do not try to use the text of the same color as page background to outwit the search engine and add more keywords to your page. This is easily discovered and severely punished by the search engine robots that will simply ban your site and search engine will stop listing it.
Do not use one-pixel image links. Using images 1*1 pixel as links will be considered as cheating or/and abuse by the search engine and your site will be banned. Do not do this.

And the last but not least - the content of the site should be addressed to the site visitor and not the search engine robots. If your site will be enjoyed by the large audience and often visited you will move to the top of the search engine list even with the inefficient HTML code on your pages. So do it for the visitors in first turn.
