Search Engine Optimization Part 5

SEO tutorial for HTML templates. Keywords.

You must perform some good analysis on the keywords you want to use. For example if your website specifies in bodybuilding and you will enter "bodybuilding" in Google you will see that there are 14,800,000 websites that have bodybuilding as the keyword and use it (Results 1 - 10 of about 14,800,000). You can use goodkeywords(dot)com software to find the list of most popular keywords related to the basic keyword. This software is free to install and use and it is very effective.

There is no need to select "bodybuilding" as your keyword from the beginning. If you will search for "bodybuilding guide" in Google you will see that there are 2,320,000 sites that use this keyword. It will be easier to start competing among 2,320,000 then 14,800,000 sites.

Select three or four popular keywords related to bodybuilding, less popular then "bodybuilding" itself but rated in the top 20-50 list and create pages related to each of them. Use homepage for the best rated one. If a keyword is searched/presented more often in Google, then you will face the most severe competition that will be hard to win at. Selecting less popular keywords at first you can win easier; gain the page rank and then switch to competing with top-rank keywords having some advantage. Trust me - this works better.
