Web Video Is Breaking Records
In December, online video viewing has broken records in U.S., going beyond ten billion videos. The most viewed video destination site is still YouTube representing nearly a third of all online videos. YouTube is followed by Fox Interactive Media, Yahoo, Time Warner, Viacom Digital and Microsoft.
Although, media companies have involved YouTube in lawsuits claiming it is a collection of illegally posted copyrighted material; Google is thus to remove all videos which should not be posted and to develop a more refined video ID technology to filter this material.
In December, web viewers have watched 3.4 hours of video, gaining 34% since the beginning of 2007. An average video on all sites makes 2.8 minutes, while a U.S. user spends only 2.6 minutes on watching the video in general.
