Search Engine Optimization Part 3

SEO for HTML Templates
Here is some help for those who want to go a little deeper into the code using the HTML or a text editor. I will tell you about the basic tags that you should pay your attention to during editing the HTML code.

"TITLE" Tag
Search engines highly value this tag and it is your business card for the search engine. The text included into this tag, or its first part (most search engines read 50-80 first symbols) will be displayed as the description of your site in Search Engines. It should be informative, useful and interesting for future visitors.

Keywords in the Link Text
Use keywords in the text of internal and external links of your site when possible. This will give you some advantages in page ranking.

"ALT" tags for images.
This tag sets the alternative text that is displayed when the images do not load or when they are disabled in the browser settings. Google indexes the text included within this tag (and keywords used in it) for the external image links only, but that is something that will give you a little help in SEO of the site.

Meta-Tag "Description"
This meta-tag is used for a brief page description. This does not influence pagerank but it is important because search engines will output this information about your site if the text content included in this tag is related to the content of the page and the search engine request (once again, use some keywords). The information in this tag should be brief, informative, and attractive and contain keywords from the page content.

These are some basic HTML tags that will help in the SEO of your site, built with our HTML templates.
